Business tires

Who counts as a business

Tires delivered in a business vehicle, or paid for with a payment in the business’s name, are treated as business-generated. All business tires go to the Brookside Rd site.

Farms and ranches (including fish farms and hatcheries) count as individuals under PC&E Rule 36 and get up to 4 free tires per month.

Fees

  • Without a DF&A Tire Generator Number: standard fees apply to all tires ($5 / $10 / $25, plus $5 per rim).
  • With a DF&A Tire Generator Number: $2 per tire dealer fee for tires without rims, plus the $5 rim fee for any tire on a rim.

Manifests & haulers

  • Complete a Used Tire Manifest for each shipment, with generator info, DF&A number, and tire quantities and sizes. It must travel with the tires.
  • Hired haulers must hold a state Tire Transporter License.
  • Questions about credits: District Tire Clerk, (479) 795-0751. Fees to the state: DF&A Miscellaneous Tax Section, (501) 682-7187.

Business hazardous waste

The District can only accept household-generated hazardous material; we don’t hold a permit for business hazardous waste. These companies may help. This is a courtesy list, not a recommendation.

City cleanup assistance

One spring and one fall cleanup per city or county, first come, first served, based on equipment and staff availability. Book as soon as your dates are set.

  • Electronics trailers: household electronics $7 each; peripherals free. No businesses.
  • Tire trailers: up to 4 free tires (no rims) per household, documented on a District form. No dealers or businesses.
  • Household hazardous waste: District staff may collect HHW on site for up to 4 hours on one Saturday of your event.
  • Your staff tow the trailers with city or county equipment and stack them per District instructions.

Municipal tires

  • Illegally dumped tires cleaned up from public property or right-of-way are accepted at no charge. Call ahead so they’re documented; your staff load and stack them.
  • Tires from city vehicles: have the tire retailer take your old tires when you buy new ones. If a fleet wholesaler sold the tires, bring the invoice showing the $3 state fee and we can waive disposal fees.

Solid waste contracting

Help writing bid and proposal specifications for trash and recycling service, example contracts from other Benton County municipalities, and a comparison of current contract services and pricing.
